Frequently Asked Questions
-
Q: Are towing eyes universal for all car models?
A: Absolutely not. Towing eyes differ not only between brands like BMW , Volvo , Mercedes Benz , or Opel but also between specific models and production years (generations) of the same manufacturer. For example, a Toyota Yaris has at least five different versions, and a VW Golf has just as many. Within the V.A.G. Group (AUDI , VW , SEAT , SKODA ), there are dozens of variations. They differ in thread diameter, thread pitch, rotation direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise), and overall length.
Q: What materials are your towing eyes made of?
A: Our towing eyes are manufactured from high-quality forged carbon steel . The specific composition of chromium and carbon in this alloy provides the necessary strength and elasticity required for safe towing.
Q: What is the difference between popular "sport-style" hooks and OE or your products?
A: "Sport hooks" on the market usually fall into two categories:
• Decorative hooks: Used primarily for aesthetics and street styling. These typically cost between €5–€20 and are not designed for heavy towing.
• Professional racing hooks: Built for extreme loads and high-performance motorsports. These typically cost over €100. There is a massive quality gap between these two.
Our products, like the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) versions, are designed for emergency use—such as winching a vehicle onto a recovery truck or towing it from an accident site. This is the standard functional requirement; however, they are not intended for the extreme, repetitive stresses of professional motorsport.
Q: What load can a towing eye withstand?
A: Even our smallest towing eyes (with an M12 thread) are tested with a straight tensile force of 5,000 kg, which is several times higher than the standard requirement. However, it is important to remember that during towing, if the rope becomes slack and is then suddenly jerked, the impact force can reach dozens of tons. For comparison, a tennis racket can hit a 50-gram ball with a force of 300 kg—imagine the forces involved with a 2-ton vehicle.
Q: How soon do you ship the orders?
A: Since we maintain our entire assortment in our own warehouse, we ship orders on the same or the next business day.
Q: How long does delivery take?
A: Within the EU, delivery usually takes between 2 to 10 business days. Shipping to the USA, Australia, Japan, and other distant countries may take 3 to 4 weeks.
